14U Division (Ages 13-14)
Emerging into Competition
14U is where players are emerging into a competitive environment. This division bridges the gap between youth and high school lacrosse, emphasizing the application of technical skills in increasingly competitive game situations.
What Parents Should Expect
- Advanced Technical Skills: Mastery of fundamental skills with focus on execution under pressure, including advanced dodging, shooting accuracy, and defensive techniques
- Tactical Application: Players learn to apply offensive sets, defensive schemes, and situational strategies in competitive game situations
- Physical Maturity: Full contact play (boys), increased physicality and conditioning expectations for all players
- Competitive Environment: Games are highly competitive with tournament play and potential for all-star or select team opportunities
- Commitment Level: Regular practice attendance is essential, with increased expectations for off-season training and skill development
Developmental Goals
14U players should demonstrate the ability to execute technical skills in high-pressure game situations, understand and apply complex tactical concepts, and show leadership on and off the field. This division prepares players for the demands of high school lacrosse while continuing to emphasize good sportsmanship and love for the game.
